Dr. Hofeldt has a real passion for helping patients optimize their vision and eye comfort, especially when it comes to obtaining a goal they are after. It all stems from a time when he was training to become a professional pilot. After going in for his medical certificate, they told him his color deficiency would cause some problems when flying and they would limit his license to daytime flying only. Dr. Hofeldt was devastated but quickly realized he needed to help those with vision problems and more than just glasses or contact lenses.

After completing his optometry degree at the University of Missouri – St. Louis, he has focused his career on helping patients who suffer from dry eyes and irregular corneas. Through extensive training, he is now considered to be an expert in specialty contact lenses, helping those with keratoconus, astigmatism, presbyopia as well as severe cases of dry eye disease.

In 2008, Dr. Hofeldt had the unique opportunity to travel to Australia and work side-by-side with one of the creators of Orthokeratology and Semi-Scleral Rigid Gas Permeable Lenses. Since then, with increasing computer and phone use, Dr. Hofeldt has seen a much greater need to help with kids myopia control. Dr. Hofeldt has received a variety of certifications for contact lenses and dry eye management.
